Pro tip: Do not forget the Lone Pairs! When drawing water ($H_2O$), if you only draw the lines to the hydrogens and forget to draw the 4 dots (2 lone pairs) sitting on top of the oxygen atom, the examiner will immediately deduct marks because the octet isn't complete.
