Each microspore develops into a Pollen Grain through mitotic division: it first forms a Vegetative Cell (which will grow the pollen tube) and a Generative Cell (which divides to form two sperm cells). The pollen grain has two layers: a tough outer layer called Exine (with distinctive patterns, highly resistant) and an inner layer called Intine (thin and delicate). The exine has apertures called Germ Pores where the pollen tube emerges.
